Thanx Ian :)

I think you can remove at least 1/2 the sugar or add a bit more honey instead of the sugar altogether...just taste the batter and see if its sweet enough for your taste.
about the flour...it might be a bit heavy if you use whole wheat/multigrain only but it shold be ok if you use half of each.

שנה טובה ומתוקה!

Nice recipe. I would like to try this one. Is it possible to remove the sugar altogether and substitute the regular flour with the multigrain one?

Thank you for the compliments :)

***One more thing - usually restaurants remove the pistils from inside the flower, I don't see a reason to do it at home when you can just not eat them and leave them on the plate. The flowers are very delicate and it is important to leave them intact...basically its a hassle...

You can do fish (any mixture of cooked sweet white fish would great with white bread, some cream, shallots, chives, basil maybe), smoked trout mousse (store bought or home made). You can do shrimp which you can use raw and it should cook while you fry the zucchini blossoms. You can combine both the fish and the shrimp or add some vegetables to either variety - zucchini would be an easy fit :)
Basicly you want something with good sweet flavor but you do not want to overpower the delicacy of the zucchini blossoms.
Hope that helps...

Your blog is so amazing. It is pleasure reading or just looking on the pictures.
I wanted to ask you, since we are not big on cheeses in our house, can you stuff zucchini with other things?

Sounds awful... We ate there a few times when we were members and it wasn't that bad, some dishes were actually nice (like the cheese pizza and a few more). Maybe the got worse since the last time we were there or you just were very unlucky....

I would think they are still in business though I cannot tell if they are still good or not since I haven't been there for quite a while...
The restaurant "bubble" on the right hand side of the blog tells you all you need to know in regards to restaurants in Vancouver. Enjoy my beloved city :)
